5GSentinel - the industrial IoT network benchmark

The aim of our upcoming project is to ensure the operation of industrial mobile networks by entrusting the monitoring, operation and quality assurance of emerging 5G networks to an automated system. We will create a watchdog product that can be flexibly tailored for macro Mobile Network Operators as well as micro industrial solutions up to a few 100 m2 in size, in terms of monitoring, measurements and testing. The proposed system is widely adaptive and scalable, facilitating and accelerating the deployment of potential 5G/6G systems, both in use-case monitoring, physical movements and application interfaces, while providing a transparent picture of the measured system's operation.

The key feature of our measurement system is the integrated concept that incorporates a multi-client measurement engine concurrently supporting multiple 5G clients from the same IP network to form a single measurement session. This design concept accommodates flexibly to the requisites of a broad scale of industry use-cases. Furthermore, the implemented measurement methodology complies with and extends the related proposals and standards of IETF (RFC 2680, 2722, 3432, and 3393).
